Goodbye

As they take their place amongst the stars
And sorrow guides them into stories past,
Their memories dispersed and pieces kept
By loved ones seeking solace will accept
The truth, and laugh and cry in equal parts;
The telling of their life with heavy hearts,
For now the time has come to say goodbye,
And raise a glass beneath a summer sky.
